The newly appointed Chairperson of the Masindi District Service Commission,Adolf Kato,has been sworn into office alongside Kaahwa Sharif Juma,the new member representing Urban Authorities.

The swearing-in- ceremony was conducted by the Masindi Chief Magistrate,His Worship Justine Gumtwero Olal,at the District Headquarters.

While administering the oath,His Worship Olal urged the new commissioners to uphold integrity,professionalism and independence in the execution of their duties.

He advised them to remain guided by the law and to seek guidance from the Public Service Commission,the district's Political leadership and the technical team whenever they encounter challenges.

"As you carry out your mandate,where you find challenges,consult the Public Service Commission,the Political leadership and the technical wing,"Olal said.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath,Kato thanked the Masindi District leadership for the confidence entrusted in him and pledged to lead an independent,transparent and corruption-free District Service Commission.

He emphasized that all appointments and promotions under his leadership will be based strictly on merit,competence and fairness rather than personal connections or favouritism.

Kato,a retired educationist with extensive experience in public service,succeeds Benjamin Byarugaba,whose term of office expired and was not renewed.Kaahwa Sharif Juma replaces Swaib Kyamanywa as the representative of Urban Authorities on the Commission.

Addressing the new officials,Masindi District Chairperson Patrick Wobusobozi called on the Commission to execute it's mandate impartially and resist practices such as nepotism,favouritism and personal vendettas.

He encouraged the commissioners to work closely with the District Executive,the Chief Administrative Officer and the Human Resource Department to strengthen service delivery and promote development in Masindi District.

Wobusobozi expressed confidence that a professional and independent District Service Commission would contribute to building an efficient public service that delivers quality services to the people of Masindi.
