Masindi district Boss assures teachers promotions

Masindi District Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga, has encouraged school headteachers to continue with the hard work assuring them of promotions especially those in acting positions.
Cosmas also urged the teaching fraternity to exhibit teamwork among themselves inorder to produce better grades.
He delivered his message yesterday, while officiating the dissemination of last year's PLE results for Masindi district that was held at the district headquarters.
According to the PLE report read by the Acting District Education Officer(Ag.DEO),Monica Kiiza,indicated that a total of 3,065 candidates from 73 registered centres sat for the PLE exams of 2024 and out of these,175 candidates scored Div.I representing 5.8%, while 1,724 candidates garnered Div.II representing 56.7%,663 candidates got Div.III representing 21.8%,246 candidates got Div.IV representing 8.1%,230 candidates were un graded representing 7.5% and 27 candidates representing 1% missed the examinations.
The total pass rate for 2024 was 92% better than 87% of 2023.
However,there was a decline in Division one from 7.2% to 6% and an improvement in Division two from 49% to 56% as compared to that of the previous year.
The ten best schools in the district included;Walyoba Brilliant primary school with 3.7pointsfollowed by Ebenezer primary school with 3.6points while Walyoba C.O.U primary school came third with 3.2 points as well as Kinyara Sugar Works primary school with 3.2points.Bulima Valley primary school, Blessed Damian and Nyabyeya primary school tied in fifth,sixth and seventh positions respectively with 3.1 points while Kabango primary school,Bokwe primary school and Kinumi primary school tied in eighth,ninth and tenth positions each with a score of 3.0points.
The best candidates were,Kyogonza Jildo Laws who bagged six aggregates from Walyoba Brilliant primary school and he was followed by Muhumuza W.A Jonathan also from Walyoba Brilliant primary school with six aggregates.Amanyire Godwin from Kinyara Sugar Works primary school,Ahuura Leticia Baguma also from Kinyara Sugar Works primary school,Talemwa Allan from Walyoba Brilliant primary school,El-Ben Jatel and Kugonza Mary Shillah also from Walyoba Brilliant primary school each scored seven aggregates.
